Baku / 08.11.17 / Turan: Four-party talks on solving financial and technical issues on the development of the western branch of the North-South International Transport Corridor will be concluded in Baku today, the press service of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC reports.

The working group with the participation of the representatives of the administrations of the railways of Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus and Iran has been coordinating the tariff policy on the transportation of goods from Belarus to Iran, participation of the Belarusian Railways car and container fleet in this process.

There is still no active railway communication along the North-South corridor, as a small railway line that would connect the Iranian and Azerbaijani railways still has not been built in Iran. Azerbaijan has built a railway line to the border with Iran and a railway bridge over the Astara River. The issue of allocation of a loan to Iran for the construction of the Kazvin-Resht-Astara railway line (358.5 km) is also being considered. ----08D--
