Azerbaijan Passes to Specific Customs Duties

Baku / 31.10.17 / Turan: Starting from 2018, the government plans to switch to specific import customs duties, due to which revenues to the state budget by customs duties will increase by 66 million manat or 14.1%. This is stated in the presentation by the Finance Ministry of the draft state budget for the next year,

The government intends to change the regulation of customs duties on the non-oil sector goods produced in Azerbaijan. The essence of the changes consists in the transition from interest rates of customs duties to stable payments in foreign currency. Import customs rates in Azerbaijan are 0-15%. What kind of products are in question is not reported.

At present, specific customs duties are also applied to a number of goods.

In 2018, the total amount of customs duties is projected at the level of 535 million manat. -08B----
